Planning Yule

12/10/2023 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Yule, the winter solstice,  the longest night of the year and the celebrations that honor the turning season can be found all over the world ranging from drunken dance parties to somber rebirthing ceremonies. Almost always there is food, music and fire.

For the Covenant of the River’s family friendly Yule celebration we invite you to join us in designing, writing and performing the ritual! We invite you to share how you celebrate or honor the Solstice. Bring your ideas, your traditions and let’s build a ritual that supports our community.

If you need some inspiration  you can do a quick web search and find all kinds of ways to celebrate the Winter Solstice.

We gather at 530 for feasting, please bring a dish or beverage to share as you are able. The ritual writing will begin after we discuss the calendar and our tribe’s yahoos and prayer requests, around 630.

Remember to park on Swallow Road, not in the cul-de-sac. Donations to Covenant of the River are always appreciated and can be money, incense, a pack of tea light candles and the like. We are also currently running a change drive to support our efforts in the community- so your pennies count too!
