Covenant of the River

The Northern Colorado Covenant of the River, of Fort Collins, CO, has been an active part of the greater Pagan community for over 10 years. We are a family friendly, eclectic group who gathers to explore, exchange knowledge, learn about and further understand our own Spiritual Paths, while finding acceptance within the comfort of an open circle atmosphere. The Northern Colorado Covenant of the River is a place where all with an open heart and mind are welcome. Come out and meet local Pagans, Asatru, Buddhists, Druids, Wiccans, Witches and other practitioners on a Pagan Path. Our activities and topics vary from week to week to support our diversity and also to celebrate the Wheel of the Year. Join us to share ideas and lore, make friends, craft tools and other items, write and perform ritual, participate in lively discussions and to explore the rich and varied practices of the Pagan traditions. This website is a living work of love and will be updated as often as possible, so please check in often to see what we have planned.

Fireside with Jean

Jean will be holding space for folks to discuss life and faith, to work on rituals or to be supported in releasing things/people/behaviors that no longer serve you. Weather permitting, we will have a fire in the Sanctuary and you are welcome to bring things to burn in the fire. Please make sure that what you intend to burn is safe, legal and yours to burns. Even if we cannot have a fire, we will still gather- it will just be indoors with candles instead! Unfortunately, if we are indoors, we will not be able to burn personal items.

Litha Celebration

Adult Midsummer Ritual

We will gather this evening to celebrate Litha or Midsummer. Please note this is adult in the sense that we seek less distraction and to focus. Minors that are older and wish to participate and can focus quietly are welcome at their guardians discretion. Younger children and those with no volume control should not attend. Thank you.

Please eat your main meal before you join us for this gathering. Drinks and snacks to share would be appreciated. Ritual garb is encouraged but not required.

Park Cleanup and Full Moon Ritual

We will be having a full moon ritual in the park today.
Please note, summer schedule park cleanups start at 5, instead of 5:30.

Please bring a dish and/or beverage to share in our potluck feast. All dishes, utensils and drinking water are provided at the River Hall. The evening will be kid friendly.

Please keep in mind that donations, whether monetary or in the form of toilet paper, incense or mead, are always welcome. Donations of time toward the upkeep and care of our Hall and Sanctuary are also appreciated.

Mosquito Repelling Candles

Sorry for the last minute switch on crafts but our Lavender has not bloomed yet and therefore will not make very good ‘wands’..

Instead we will be crafting and pouring mosquito repellent candles.
All supplies will be provided but if you have smaller mason jars (or other small heat safe glass jars that you would like to use or share, please feel free to bring them. Likewise with essential oils.. we will have a selection that supports the recipes Jean has selected but feel free to bring your own- to share or use personally or donate.

Each month the Council, Jean Jordan and Chel, get together to schedule Covenant of the River events, write rituals, outline presentations and discuss general community business. We would appreciate your ideas on activities, topics or crafts that could enrich our community. You can present these ideas whether you want to lead or collaborate or have the Council lead.

Lavender Wands

As many of you have noticed, the River Hall has a plethora of lavender growing along the driveway and we are always looking for ways to use it in crafts or sell it.

We will be using ribbon to weave cages around the lavender buds to create Lavender Wands. All supplies will be provided but if you have a specific color/type of thin ribbon you want to use, or share, feel free to bring it.

Yard Sale

Thank you for continuing to support our community with your donations and sweat! Yard Sales are the Covenant’s main source of income throughout the year and every gift to that cause is appreciated.

Volunteers are needed throughout the day- from early morning around 5am until at least 2pm. The sale will be advertised for 7-1 but we all know that is just a guideline.

Please RSVP and let us know when/for how long you are able to volunteer in the comments, if you are able. Surprise volunteers are also welcome!

The formal full moon dinner has become a tradition that brings our community together in celebration of the Full Moon and good food. But it isn’t very formal.. so we are going to try a different angle. Let’s celebrate the Fantastic May Full Moon in our beloved Sanctuary. This year we are dancing with the fairies and sharing in a catered burrito bar.

Park Cleanup and Covenant Camping Guide

We get to hold our entire gathering at Landings Park! We will gather at 5pm to get the most of the sunshine!

We eat first, then proceed to caring for our adopted space. The night’s presentation/discussion will be held under or near the pavillion, so if you arrive late.. we won’t be hard to find.

Our topic for this evening will be Camping! Council will be going over some guidelines and expectations as well as what is in the Covenant’s gear. If you have questions about camping with NCCR, need to borrow gear or want to share your camping stories.. this is a great gathering for you!

Rock Painting

Whether you want to make a marker for your front walk or quarter sigil stones, for this craft you get to decide what you are making. You bring the stone(s) and we will provide the painting supplies! We will also have spray laquer, paintbrushes, ideas for sigils and color correspondence information.

This will be a great craft for the kids- not only because it will be easy for them to do but it can be a way to get them involved in your spiritual practice. Please make sure everybody wears clothes that they can get paint on!
