Covenant of the River

The Northern Colorado Covenant of the River, of Fort Collins, CO, has been an active part of the greater Pagan community for over 9 years. We are a family friendly, eclectic group who gathers to explore, exchange knowledge, learn about and further understand our own Spiritual Paths, while finding acceptance within the comfort of an open circle atmosphere. The Northern Colorado Covenant of the River is a place where all with an open heart and mind are welcome. Come out and meet local Pagans, Asatru, Buddhists, Druids, Wiccans, Witches and other practitioners on a Pagan Path. Our activities and topics vary from week to week to support our diversity and also to celebrate the Wheel of the Year. Join us to share ideas and lore, make friends, craft tools and other items, write and perform ritual, participate in lively discussions and to explore the rich and varied practices of the Pagan traditions. This website is a living work of love and will be updated as often as possible, so please check in often to see what we have planned.

For many of our holidays we do an adult ritual. But for Yule we felt that in the spirit of community, and the spirit of giving, it would be nice to do a gift exchange. White elephant gift exchange rules: Bring a small wrapped gift under $15 value. We will each get a chance to draw one gift. More detailed rules will be given before we begin.

After the gift exchange we will have a Sumbl to ring in our new year and celebrate the solstice.

Please eat your main meal before you join us for this gathering. Drinks and snacks to share would be appreciated.

Tonight we will be writing and then performing a full moon ritual. These are usually a lot of fun, and allow us to work with the energy of the evening directly instead of writing a ritual before hand and finding the energy of the night we intend to perform the ritual is very different. This is also a great chance for us to interact with each other’s different faiths directly, each adding a taste of our own personal preferences to the ritual.

As pagans we honor our gods and beloved entities with sacrificial offerings- usually bread and/or alcohol, but an offering can take many forms. Beads, poetry and pennies could be more appropriate at times with certain deities. It is a gift energetically given to show our appreciation for the life we share with them.
Almost every religious or spiritual practice has some form offering that is traditional and familiar to it’s practitioners. From cooked rice to foreign coins to blood sacrifice, tonight we will be looking at different pagan traditions and how they give offerings.

I am hoping to hold space for folks to come watch flames dance, burn that thing you need to release and share the weights of life. A conversation around a fire with tribe has helped many of us to find peace and for others it has created common ground.

We will probably gather in the warm Hall but if you intend to visit the fire, please dress for the weather. Food to share will be appreciated but there will not be a structured time for potluck.
