OSTARA!

03/20/2022 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm

The Sabbat of Ostara is here!

The Spring Equinox begins Spring and brings  balance in the length of the days and nights.  Soon the days will be longer than the nights.  We might consider this idea of balance in other things that are often considered opposites. The sun is gaining strength and the fertility of the Earth is beginning to show.   Soon bulbs will be blooming (it the snow will melt!) and the tree buds will be swelling.   Balance, fertility, beginnings, rebirth.

The Sabbat gets it’s name from the German holiday named for the Goddess, Eostre.   She considers the Hare to be a sacred animal.   There are so many stories and symbols of this holiday that you can read about.

Tonight the celebration of the spring Sabbat will be our Sunday night activities.   Jean and Chel will be leading this ritual.

There will be no “business” (annnouncements, yahoos, prayer requests) and no Zoom.

Some things to remember… please park on Swallow, not in the cul-de-sac… masks are required for all indoor and crowded outdoor spaces… BYOM (bring your own meal) if you want to eat at the Hall between 530 and 6pm… please read the Code Of Conduct before your first visit to Covenant of the River… gifts to support this community are always welcome and can come in many forms like firewood, mead, monies, time and lighters… monetary donations can be made in the donation basket in the Hall or through PayPal on our website.

Thank you so much!
