Tonight we will meet at Landings Park, off Boardwalk north of Harmony. Please come at 5pm to the shelter house for a potluck dinner. Bring something to share if you can. After dinner we will care for our adopted park with a quick litter pickup before we move into the evening’s craft. Jean will be leading Candle Carving. Candles and tools will be provided, free of charge.

Camping! Lost Lake (Red Feather)

Is summer over already? That’s not so bad, because it’s time for the annual Labor Day camping trip to our favorite Lost Lake Camping site, just beyond Red Feather Lakes!! Come up August 30th and find a place to pitch a tent or park the vehicle you plan to sleep in. We break camp and head out Monday morning, September 2nd. There is SOME ability to fit certain kinds of campers or RVs in and near this area. If you think that you would like to camp with something bigger than a passenger truck or car, please contact Jean or Jordan to talk to them about your camper so they can advise you.
This is rough camping.  There are no bathrooms, vault toilets, or running water. Please bring water and food for yourself. See the Camping Page for other requirements. And – it gets a little chilly at night at this time of the year.

Dark Moon Group

Our last Dark Moon Group in the Hall on Swallow. Come hang out. Light some candles. Enjoy the peace. Most likely we will be hanging out in the driveway under a canopy so a little of the dark ambiance will be missing. But the dark Moon group is more than blue light bulbs!
There will be no presentation planned. If you want to share a tool, a story, a ritual, a meditation – we will look forward to whatever offerings are shared. The July calendar has a more lengthy description of the newish Dark Moon Group format. Here I will simply remind you, the group is what it is. Keep it positive. If you have fears or needs, please let us know so we can be there for you.
For me, the night brings quiet as the people go back to their homes and less vehicles are out. There is quieting and peace of the energy as the Colorado earth goes to sleep. And lunacy is at a low ebb because the moon is also resting. My two black cats pile on when I lay down and that soft black fur and gentle purring is what darkness can mean to me.
The group remains open to anyone who wants to come and for any amount of time you want to come. There is no such thing as arriving late or leaving early because you are welcome whenever you can be here. We love to see you for whatever time you can stop in.

Closing Ritual

By this date in our beloved Hall and Sanctuary we have had our last Sabbat, our last Dark Moon, our last Full Moon. These wonderful times will continue wherever we are traveling to. But tonight, it is time to say goodbye to this space on Swallow.
Join us tonight at 7pm for a ritual of farewell as we thank and bless this wonderful space that has served our community for so many years. Please come if you can. Let Council know if there is anything we can do to support you as we move through this.

River Fun!

Meet us at the Poudre River Whitewater Park 201 E Vine Drive, just north of Old Town off College from 1pm to 5pm for a little end of summer river fun! You don’t have to get wet but if you think you will, wear clothing you don’t mind getting wet and bring a towel. If you or your children are not good swimmers but you plan to get in the water, please bring a life jacket (preferably) or some kind of floatation device. The water level is low, but better safe!
Picnic potluck, please bring something to share if you can. This park has a wheelchair accessible area for the park.

Mabon Family Friendly celebration

Celebrate the arrival of Fall and the feast of Mabon with us at The Bartels Pumpkin Patch (more information below) (3424 E Douglas Road)
Mabon is a time when the community gathers together to share food and make merry. We have so much to be thankful for, let’s stop and appreciate it. There will be pumpkins, hayrides, a corn maze, and delicious food!
We will arrive at the pumpkin patch at 3pm. We will have a potluck dinner around 4pm, with a Mabon ritual at 5:00
Suggestions for the potluck include foods that don’t require cooking, heating, or refrigeration. Such as sandwiches, cold cuts, cheeses, crackers, breads, fruits, veggies. There will be food trucks on site and you can even pick the veggies you want to share when you arrive! AND if you are unable to bring anything we want you to come anyway as this is a time of community and gathering and there will be plenty.
It is free to go to the farm but the hayrides and other things do cost to support the farm. Any food or supplies you get from Covenant are free of charge!

HOW TO GET THERE:
Bartels is located off Douglas Road which is north of the Budweiser Brewery in terms of distance from Fort Collins. From the CSU area, it takes about 20 minutes to drive there so allow time. Some little maps are shown below but you might want to look on Google Maps or your own software. Instead of the address, it works better if you search for Bartels Farm.
There is an exit off I-25 for Mountain Vista Road. You can also get to Mountain Vista from Timberline Rd in Fort Colins. Once on Mountain Vista, go west until you can’t go any further (Adriel Hills is a dead end), turn north (right) on Turnberry (formerly County Road 11). The extent of the improved road ends at Douglas Road, turn east (right) and go about 1.5 miles, looking for the farm on the north (left) side of the road.
You can also get to Douglas Road by going north on College (287), all the way to Douglas Road. But you will need to take the right turn off at the “Y”, by the Pioneer Mobile Home Park, north of King Soopers to get on “Highway 1”, away from 287. (On the little map below you can see this junction at the bottom of Terry Lake after you pass Firehouse subs) Highway 1 intersects with Douglas Road at an intersection with a traffic signal so you don’t have to keep looking for the turn off.
