Sanctuary Care Day

Here at Covenant of the River we are so blessed to have a large, somewhat private area to gather for fires, for rituals, for Sumbl, for all manner of celebrations. While this area is part of Jean’s property, we all use it, we all benefit from it. It is only fair that we should show our gratitude to Jean and to the space and to the energies and spirits of the space by taking care of it. Every effort you put in to show the space how much you care for it and appreciate it, puts more positive energy, perhaps even magic, into this sacred space.

In looking through photos of the evolution of the Sanctuary I was struck to think that we have such a great place because of all the work that was done by all those who came before. And we have been blessed to inherit it and are now the stewards who care for it to pass to those who come after.

Everyone has a different ability and interest. There are many tasks that can be done for as long or short a time as you can. There is usually somthing that needs to be cleaned and straightened in the Hall as well.

We have work gloves and some yard-work tools but please bring your own, if you can. If we get other projects set up, we will post an update of the tools and other items possibly needed. Remember your allergy meds, water bottle, sunscreen and whatever else will make working in the sun easier. Depending on what you end up doing, gardening knee pads can come in handy.

Please bring your own meal or make arrangements to have something delivered around the time we plan to eat, 5pm. We will have access to the microwave but not refrigeration so please bring a cooler if your food or beverage requires it. We do have plates, silverware and cups available if anyone needs.

Please lighten the load of what everyone else will be doing and lend your energy to your friends and to the Sanctuary

The Sanctuary through the years….
