Tantra – a breakdown of the different colored practices

March 2 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm MST

The association of Tantra with specific colors is a modern concept, developed over time to differentiate between different types of practices. This framework was often created by scholars or practitioners outside traditional circles and represents various aspects of tantric practices in Hinduism, Buddhism, and other spiritual traditions. Tantra itself is vast and encompasses many diverse schools of thought and ritual. While the colors don’t appear in the original tantric texts, they represent later interpretations aimed at distinguishing between practices centered on purity (white), passion (red), power (black), and other spiritual or energetic goals. Kat’s presentation dives into the history of Tantra and the practices associated with the different colors.

Our gathering starts with a potluck. Please bring a dish and/or beverage to share, as you are able. There is almost always enough to go around, so please do not let a lack of contribution to the potluck keep you from joining us. All utensils, dishes and such are provided by Covenant of the River.

We will again be meeting at Pat’s house: 2800 Crystal Court Fort Collins. Please be mindful of the neighbors and do not block their driveways. Contact Council in advance if you need driveway parking.
