Tantra – a breakdown of the different colored practices

The association of Tantra with specific colors is a modern concept, developed over time to differentiate between different types of practices. This framework was often created by scholars or practitioners outside traditional circles and represents various aspects of tantric practices in Hinduism, Buddhism, and other spiritual traditions. Tantra itself is vast and encompasses many diverse schools of thought and ritual. While the colors don’t appear in the original tantric texts, they represent later interpretations aimed at distinguishing between practices centered on purity (white), passion (red), power (black), and other spiritual or energetic goals. This presentation dives into the history of Tantra and the practices associated with the different colors.
