Magic of Fermentation
Fermentation is a universal human ritual practiced across every continent and era. Long before modern science explained microbes, ancient communities recognized this invisible transformation as a sacred gift that preserved harvests and sustained life. We will talk about the global roots and ancient history of how different cultures used fermentation to survive and thrive, sample a variety of living, fermented foods to experience these flavors firsthand, and learn some of the core rules of fermentation so you can start your own at home if you wish.
If you have your own ferments that you wish to bring for tasting: sourdough, pickles, anything you make with fermentation, we could also have a little sharing time.
