SUMMARY:Corn Dollie Craft
DESCRIPTION:Jean will be leading us in a very traditional craft of the season: Corn Dollies. \nMany European traditions recognize the spirit of the harvest\, a deity of sorts that watches over the crop and hears the prayers of the farmer. In gratitude\, the last sheath of corn was taken in ritual and transformed into a dolly that could be kept at the hearth after the harvest was done. Some folx burn these dollies at Lammas while others keep her until spring and then return her to the field when the soil can be worked. \nToday the handicraft can give us time to reflect on our own harvest and the reciprocal relationships we have with spirits of a place. Or perhaps we reflect on the way deity shows up in our life. Associations range from Brighid to land wights to local mother goddess figures. Dollies can represent almost any thing that we want to honor as we harvest the goods of summer and cherish the late summer nights. \nAll supplies provided. If you have ribbon\, bells or such that you would like to them your dolly with\, you are welcome to bring whatever supplies and share or not as you wish. Your dolly can be as simple or decorated as you want it to be. \nPlease bring a dish to share\, as you able. Covenant will provide dishes\, utensils and drinking water. \n530 potluck \n615 calendar and announcements \n645 craft and storytelling \nWe will be at 2800 Crystal Court in Fort Collins. Please be prepared to park on the adjacent streets. Be mindful of the driveways and sidewalks. If you need more accessible parking\, please reach out to Council.

All sorts of activities for all ages including a trash pickup competition\, an obstacle course\, and some modified Neo-Highland Games. \nPlease note the earlier start time so we can enjoy more of the sunshine together. \nDuring the Summer months we have the pleasure of hosting our entire gathering at Landings Park.
