SUMMARY:Tantra - a breakdown of the different colored practices
DESCRIPTION:The association of Tantra with specific colors is a modern concept\, developed over time to differentiate between different types of practices. This framework was often created by scholars or practitioners outside traditional circles and represents various aspects of tantric practices in Hinduism\, Buddhism\, and other spiritual traditions. Tantra itself is vast and encompasses many diverse schools of thought and ritual. While the colors don’t appear in the original tantric texts\, they represent later interpretations aimed at distinguishing between practices centered on purity (white)\, passion (red)\, power (black)\, and other spiritual or energetic goals. Kat’s presentation dives into the history of Tantra and the practices associated with the different colors. \nOur gathering starts with a potluck. Please bring a dish and/or beverage to share\, as you are able. There is almost always enough to go around\, so please do not let a lack of contribution to the potluck keep you from joining us. All utensils\, dishes and such are provided by Covenant of the River. \nWe will again be meeting at Pat’s house: 2800 Crystal Court Fort Collins. Sometimes we may even think we have an original thought\, and then find that this thing we have added to our own spiritual journey has existed in some other culture or religion for a long time. So how do we balance these things without stepping into the territory of cultural misappropriation? SUMMARY:Full Moon Make & Take Ritual
DESCRIPTION:Apologies for the late update! In an effort to support some other endeavors in our community and gather around the fire freely as the energies of the moon rise\, our Full Moon gathering has been moved to Wednesday March 12. \nWe will gather around the fire and weave. We will examine where we are going and what we are being called to do. The moon is building\, gathering light and shining more love down on us each day. The weaving and the blessed moonlight will enhance our focus\, allowing the gathering of divine energy in the plaits we make.  Do you need a calm and centering reminder? Are you looking at a month where you will need extra courage? For this full moon we will be making a braid in circle for you to see and know that you have what you need: that you have created and honored your energetic growth. Beside the fire\, surrounded by loving community\, under the waxing gibbous moon… \nWe will be weaving braids of natural material\, adorning them with trinkets\, ribbons and/or stones that align with your need and begin a consecration of sorts. Then you will take the braid home to leave in the light of the full moon. All supplies provided. Donations to offset the cost are appreciated and can be made in person or online. \nMore information will be provided and discussed concerning consecration\, moon bathing and the importance of braids in magic. \nIt is my intention to hold this ritual and craft outside. If the weather pushes us indoors\, we have space for that and a fireplace to light! Dress in layers\, wear sensible shoes and while ritual garb is encouraged\, it is not required. \nIf you have anything special to your current magical work or personal growth- think ribbon\, yarn\, stones\, charms- please bring them and work them into your weave! Donations of pretty things are always appreciated. Sharing is not only caring.. it can also help reduce some of your craft leftover clutter! \nWe will be at 2800 Crystal Court in Fort Collins. DESCRIPTION:We will gather to care for our park at 3:30. Trash bags and gloves are provided. Please bring your own water and remember to dress for weather. Closed toe shoes are always recommended at a park cleanup. \nThe second part of the evening begins with a potluck feast at 2800 Crystal Court. Please bring a dish or beverage to share\, as you are able. Do not hinder the use of the driveways in the culdesac. Many folx will need to park on the adjacent streets. \nWe will be making besoms to welcome Spring and encourage the movement of energy in our lives. The besom is traditionally used to sweep away energies and is often used to clear a ritual circle before it is consecrated and called. Many besoms actually works as our modern brooms do to physically remove dirt and debris. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a feast and ritual to honor the turning of the Wheel\, balance and our community. The gathering will be family friendly and a sweet introduction for new friends. And there will be an egg hunt for the young ones before hand. Please try to remember a basket or fun bag for the egg hunt\, we do not have all the baskets on hand like we used to. \nPlease bring a dish and/or beverage to share in the feast\, as you are able. Do not let a lack of contribution keep you from joining us in the feast; there is almost always enough to go around. \nRitual garb is encouraged\, not required. Dress for the weather and consider layers. We may be outside for a portion of the evening so sensible shoes are recommended. \nIf you intend to join us for Sumbl\, a Norse ritual honoring those gathered and our gods\, you are encouraged to bring a drinking vessel. Cups and horns will be available for those who do not have a ritual drinking vessel. \nWe will gather at 2800 Crystal Court in Fort Collins beginning at 4:30pm. Please be mindful of the sidewalks and driveways in the cul-de-sac. We must be good guests. Many folx will need to park on the adjacent streets. DESCRIPTION:Release and prayer are the most common reason for burning personal items in a ritual manner.. the fire consumes the item and carries the attachment\, the heavy emotion\, up and away with flames and fragrant smoke. Many traditions view the smoke from their scared fires as prayers travelling to the ears of the gods. \nCircling around a fire with community to chat and share in supporting each crosses many generations of many traditions. There is a specific kind of beauty and comfort that comes from watching the night fall while the fire light grows. \nFireside is a no pressure evening where folx are encouraged to show up whenever they are able and leave when they need to. Snacks and beverages to share are encouraged but not expected.  Please dress for the weather: cloaks\, layers and lap blankets all encouraged. \nWe are gathering in the backyard of 2800 Crystal Court in Fort Collins. Be mindful of right-of-ways\, sidewalks and driveways in the cul-de-sac. We must be good guests and many folx will need to park on the adjacent streets.
