Sanctuary Careday!

07/04/2021 1:00 pm - 7:00 pm

At the Board of Directors Open House meeting on June 3rd, around 20 people had a lively and hopeful discussion which concluded with plans to start meeting in person again! Collectively we all agreed to support and be respectful of anyone who feels they need to continue practicing social distancing and/or wear a mask. Currently there are no restrictions for fully vaccinated people in Colorado or Larimer County and only recommendations, not restrictions, for unvaccinated people. Covenant of the River will not impose restrictions for our activities but we will recommend that everyone do what they need to in order to feel safe and advocate for themselves if they need social distance to be respected. We also agreed to eat outside whenever possible for as long as the weather allows.

For July 4th, we are going to keep it light and mostly social with a Sanctuary Careday. We’ll gather at 1pm, clean up the Sanctuary and then eat together at 5pm.

Please bring your own meal or make arrangements to have something delivered around the time we plan to eat, 5pm. We will have access to the microwave but not refrigeration so please bring a cooler if your food or beverage requires it. We do have plates, silverware and cups available if anyone needs.

For the Sanctuary Careday, we will mostly be pulling weeds and leveling the rock circle. We have work gloves and some yard-work tools but please bring your own, if you can. If we get other projects set up, we will update the tools and such possibly needed. Remember your allergy meds, water bottle, sunscreen and whatever else will make working in the hot sun easier.

Although it will be Independence Day, please do not bring or expect fireworks. The River Hall and Sanctuary is within Fort Collins city limits and fireworks are not permitted. At all.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns please reach out to Council.

Here’s to hugs, if you want them, and sharing in sacred space!

Please remember to park on Swallow Road, not in the cul-de-sac, out of respect for our neighbors.
