Full Snow Moon Sunday

02/05/2023 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm

We gather for the Snow Moon, which takes place in the stillness of midwinter, in the harshest month of the year.  The signs of Earth’s reawakening are there for us, but blanketed by snow and sometimes difficult to perceive.  This Snow Moon we will open ourselves to the quiet and emptiness of an evening after the snow.  We will practice being present in the face of winter, acknowledging the sometimes complicated feelings that can arise when days are dark and short, and the outside world is unwelcoming.  But we will also dig beneath winter’s veil to celebrate the signs that the wheel of the year is indeed turning, and spring’s return is coming.
As part of the ritual we will set down or set aside our cellphones and other personal technology (in a safe place), taking them back up at the end of the rite as we prepare to reenter the mundane world.  Please do bring a phone, but also a small bag or wallet to put it in if that makes putting it down feel safer for you.
