YULE – Celebrate the Sabbat

12/18/2022 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Yule will soon be upon us!  Celebrate this Sunday with Covenant of the River!

Please plan to arrive around 5:30pm at the River Hall. (901 E Swallow).  Feel free to bring your own food to eat or use the time to visit and center into a ritual mood.   The ritual will begin at 6:00.   (On Sabbats we do not do announcements or other business but prefer to move into the emotions of the ritual right away.)

We are hoping to induce a festive feeling into our evening, and are asking that those who feel inclined dress bright and cheerfully!  Ritual garb is encouraged but not required.

We also hope you will consider bringing a small ornament or two that is significant to you; we will be decorating our space as part of our celebration/ritual. We will explore and educate ourselves on traditions old and new and we hope to incorporate aspects of those traditions in honorable ways.

There will be an offering altar where gifts of food and wine/mead for the godly spirits who are guiding us through the season may be placed as is the custom in many different religions and traditions around the world (leaving cookies for Santa!).

We will end our evening by sharing stories, songs, and poems around the room from whoever wishes to share with the group.  Please bring a poem, story, or song to share.

We will end by exhanging small toekens and trinkets that will be provided.

Please remember to park on Swallow and make your way to the far side of the garage.  The welcoming yellow door marks the entrance to River Hall.
