Samhain

It’s here!!! Samhain is one of the most awaited Sabbats on the Wheel of the Year.   This year we will be able to have the ritual during our Sunday gathering.

The weather remains an unknown.  It WILL be cold.  It might rain or snow.  Originally we had planned to have a fire and do some parts of the ritual outside before finishing the evening in the hall.   Currently we think the entire ritual will be indoors.  Layered clothing is advised for flexibility.  Ritual garb is suggested but not required; wear what will make your Samhain feel sacred to you.

Tonight’s ritual and activities were planned and written as a group.  We decided to have sacred mixed with fun.  We will include our anscestors and sacred fire. We will use apples for divination and to make cider for future rituals.   Folks will share with you their own divination talents and ideas with oracle cards, runes, and other methods.  And all signs point toward Uno before the evening ends. (Between the apple divination and the making of cider is a good place to duck out if you are hoping to take little ones out for trick-or-treating. And  you are welcome to return for the activities or for Sumbl!)

Gather at the Hall starting at 5:00pm with your BYOM (bring your own meal). The evening’s ritual begins at 5:30pm.  No business, yahoos, or prayer requests.  ZOOM WILL be available for the outside portions of the ritual. If there is no outside portion of the ritual, we will see if there is room for the camera to see what is happening as move around in the Hall.  Log on and we will see what happens!   Link to the Zoom Room

Sumbl will be held after the ritual and other activities.  This will probably be late.  PLEASE bring your own cup/chalice/horn as the large horn cannot be passed due to Covid.   Also – donations of Mead for use in the ritual would be greatly appreciated.  If you prefer a non-alcoholic beverage, please bring one!  Alcohol is never required to participate in Sumbl or any ritual.
